At Kehoe-France Southshore, every child has the right to feel safe, known and protected – every single day.
We follow the International Schools Partnership Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and Louisiana state law, so students are surrounded by adults who are trained to spot concerns early and act quickly in a child’s best interests.
From secure campus access and safer recruitment to mandated reporter training and clear reporting procedures, safeguarding is a culture that runs through every classroom, activity and interaction on campus.
An on-site school nurse is available to provide immediate medical assistance when needed.
All visitors sign in, wear visible ID badges, and are supervised if they are not cleared for direct contact with students.
Security cameras help us monitor activity across campus, supporting student safety and accountable movement throughout the school day.
All adults working with students complete background checks, identity verification, and safeguarding briefings before beginning their roles.
A trained Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) coordinates safeguarding practices, responds to concerns, and ensures policies are followed.
Staff use secure systems to record and report concerns. Safeguarding records are stored confidentially and shared only on a strict need-to-know basis.
All faculty and staff complete mandated reporter training before working with students and refresh it regularly to stay current with Louisiana law.
We follow all Louisiana Department of Education and DCFS guidelines, and staff are legally required to report any suspected abuse, neglect, or risk of harm - even if it is only a concern or uncertainty.
Safeguarding is the foundation of everything we do. Every child deserves to feel safe, heard and respected, and our role is to ensure that concerns are addressed swiftly, sensitively and with the highest level of care. By fostering trust and open communication, we create an environment where students can thrive with confidence.
