Admission FAQs

Children from 8 weeks old through Kindergarten may apply to Kehoe-France Southshore’s Little Pioneers, Early Childhood Center, Preschool, and Kindergarten programs. Admission is based on receipt of all required documents and space availability.

  • Little Pioneers (8 Weeks – 11 Months): Must be at least 8 weeks old
  • One-Year-Old: One year old by September 30
  • Two-Year-Old: Two years old by September 30
  • Three-Year-Old (PK3): Three years old by September 30
  • Pre-Kindergarten (PK4): Four years old by September 30
  • Kindergarten: Five years old by September 30

You will need to submit:

  • A completed and signed enrollment application
  • A current photo of the applicant
  • All applicable fees
  • Prior school records and assessments, if applicable
  • A copy of the child’s birth certificate

Prior school experience is not required for all early years applicants. If your child has attended another school or program, we ask for school records and any assessments so we can better understand and support their transition.

For Elementary and Middle School, the Admissions Committee reviews:

  • Past academic performance (school records and transcripts)
  • Admissions testing
  • Teacher assessment and recommendations
  • Students are admitted based on receiving all required documents and space availability.

Applications for Elementary and Middle School must include:

  • Completed and signed enrollment application
  • Current photo of the applicant
  • School records and transcripts
  • Teacher recommendation (requested from the previous school by Kehoe-France)
  • Applicable fees
  • Admission test
  • Classroom observation
  • Copy of birth certificate

Once you submit your application, Kehoe-France contacts your child’s current or previous school to request official records, transcripts, and the teacher recommendation.

Applicants complete an admission test appropriate to their grade level and participate in a classroom observation. These help our team understand your child’s academic readiness, learning style, and how we can best support their success.

Depending on the grade level, an informal meeting or conversation with the student and/or family may be included to learn more about the child’s interests, strengths, and needs.

Once the Admissions Committee has reviewed all documents, test results, and observations, families are notified in writing with an admissions decision and, if applicable, next steps for enrollment.
