Students in Grade 5 to 7  stretch their thinking, grow independence, and build essential life skills such as leadership, resilience, and teamwork.

They explore a robust curriculum in core subjects and enrichments, apply learning through projects and problem-solving, and pursue passions in sports, arts, STEM and design, electives, and clubs, leaving Middle School confident and ready to take ownership of their next steps.

Students in Grades 5 to 7 engage in a well-rounded, inquiry-based curriculum that combines rigorous academics with opportunities to explore interests, discover new passions, and develop their unique talents.

Core academic subjects

Middle school students engage with a robust program of core subjects that lay the groundwork for future academic achievement:

  • Mathematics – Deepening conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills through meaningful, real-world applications
  • Language and Literature – Building strong reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills across a range of engaging texts
  • Science – Investigating life, physical, and earth sciences through inquiry-based learning, hands-on experimentation, and design thinking
  • Individuals and Societies – Connecting history, geography, civics, and economics to develop a richer understanding of people, cultures, and global systems
  • Spanish – Studied two days per week, with a focus on conversational fluency, vocabulary development, and cultural awareness

  • Visual Arts – Taught three days every two weeks, fostering self-expression, creativity, and an appreciation of a wide range of artistic techniques and styles
  • Performing Arts – Offered three days every two weeks, giving students opportunities in music, drama, and performance to develop confidence, communication, and collaboration skills

Middle School students receive guidance and practice to prepare for high school entrance exams. They build strong study habits, master test-taking strategies, and gain confidence with the academic content and skills emphasized by local high schools.

Personalized digital learning

Each student is equipped with a personal Chromebook to use throughout the school day and at home. This 1:1 access supports learning across all subjects, enabling collaboration, research, coding in the Design Lab, and assignment management through Google Classroom. Responsible digital citizenship and healthy screen-time balance are central to our approach.
