The K-F Band program is an award-winning program consistently receiving top honors at the Archdiocesan Band Festival and the Louisiana Music Educator's Association Large Ensemble Festival.  The K-F band program is proud to boast alum Rob Dowie (K-F, 2000) as LSU’s reigning Drum Major during the ‘07, ‘08, and ‘09 football seasons!   Other notable alumni include Andrew Fath (Rummel Drum Major, K-F, 2007) and Greg Agid (K-F, 2000),  a featured performer at The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in years past.  Christian Bautista (K-F, 2002), former band director at Rummel High School, now attending Harvard.

Band class is offered three days a week during either study hall or elective hour- depending on your child’s homeroom.  Students may choose from flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, and melodic percussion (xylophone).  Melodic percussion students move to snare drum/drumset in their second year. First year music study covers the basics of music reading and basic ear training. Performances include a winter concert, a spring concert, a spring group competition, and a pep rally performance with our premier Symphonic Band.
